Forgiven -

I wrote my name in the sand beside the ocean

In the morning it had all been washed away

The water had no memory of my visit

My slate was clean and I wanted it that way

I want to be forgiven like the sand along the coastline

Let the waters wash all my past away

Everything I’ve ever said

Everything I’ve done

All I’m asking for is to be… Forgiven

Wrote my confession on a page made out of paper

Tore it up and threw it in the fire

Watched the ashes swirl into the moonlight

Watched my sins dissolve into the sky

Oh, I want to be forgiven like the paper in the fire

Let the winds blow all my mortal sins away
