arms behind back, barely conscious.

i promised i wouldn’t pull my eyes away,

but they are swelling shut.

a hopeless gaze covers my face.

i’d rather die than

let you suffer.

i can’t move my arms to tear these monsters off.

thrashing you about and

pounding you down.

this is my fear, never so real.

nothing is more sobering than the taste of

blood.

knife to throat.

they penetrate you.

sacred.

i cannot get them off.
