In the hallways and the alley

In the freeway and the rut

They stream through

The oak trees and food trucks

On any afternoon or evening

In the parking lot or the strand

I’m sure they know where Valencia stands

So Valencia sweet talking

Through a field of laughing gulls

Is like the thin profile of a summersault

I call her when it’s over
