Roosting Towns - Cemeteries

The houses lined in rows

The windows cracked and broke

The autumn air was cold

In our haunted home

They come from underneath

Out there beyond the trees

Covered in dirt and leaves

While we all sleep

The gate was open wide

They pass through sound and sight

Through smoke and glowing lights

They walk the streets tonight

We think we’re safe and sound

Here in our roosting towns

Celestial skies and ground

The Wilderness is now

And in the wind I heard

A dark hex of words

Rustling through the air

With the restless birds
