No-one even knows where you come from

You sail across the sky with you tail of sparkling ice

Many years ago word would get around

Everyone would move to higher ground

The mountain tops would ring with prayers and sacrifice

Now the jury’s out on our existence

The worst are full of passionate intensity

We had Democracy, Dentistry, Waist-band elastic, Rhythmic Gymnastics,

The Rule Of Law, The Rule Of Thumb, Fire, The Wheel, Rugby Union,

The Petrol Engine, The Old-Age Pension, The Fire Of Hades, The Briscoes Lady,

Dental Floss, Motorcross, The Koran, The Torah, Interflora

And in that marvellous year some child should have been born

To look up at the sky and write you a song
