Knocking down your door, it seems I couldn’t even get arrested

Though I tried & tried — my best — well I was getting bested

Everybody had some kind of interest that was vested

Could it be the time for exclamation points is over?

Could it be the time for truths in semi colons?

Everybody smiled — a pat on the head & oh what a nice boy

Never took us seriously — they were playing with their other toys

But now I find I’m in demand & you’ll find I’ve developed quite a voice

Just question marks and periods, period my friend

We’re the best, at worst — now every-body tells us so
