All the kingdoms of the Earth

For a simple trifle’s worth

If not you then surely the next one will see

The deal is struck the ink is dried

Slowly then you realize

You are to play the fool for all eternity

The yoke weighs heavy

As you turn the rows

Casting teeth before you

Eating what you’ve sown

You look to where your spirit burned

To find it’s but a broken urn

You scream the deceiver’s many names

Staring out the parapet

A robe of sorrow and regret

Absolute and forever may you reign
