telling his son the road is wild

beyond that big ship

to walk barefooted on the tides

jack wrote a letter to madness

asked them to drive him insane

wrote in words his lover’s to blame

she sighed through the wall

love’s too small to stop the rain

as she walked through rose covered gates

with the sun on her face

but she found jack’s letter to madness

enough truth to drive a woman insane

she hid jack’s sorrow with sadness

red hair in the autumn

denim jeans in the dark

burgundy coloured blossom

more than money’s due worth

red breaks in the autumn

keeps the weather at bay

but jack’s mind’s where the storm is

and it spins him away

now the children of madness

to much truth for any child to contain

some walk slow some walk backward

they say with life that others are to blame
