That Light -

A solid rock pier

The sky was so clear

Ah those days were the good ones

Sailing the seas

Was easy for me

I always had a safe place to run

Then one day it came the shadow

Covered every sea and meadow and I was lost

Trying to find a way through blindness

And to leave the land of darkness at any cost

I was searching for a guiding light

Just a light to guide me through the night

So I rubbed my hands upon my eyes

Clearing out the mist I felt inside

And those tears I couldn’t hide

So long it seems

As seconds in dreams

Since we were here together

Sailing the seas

And you beside me

Taking care of the weather

When the shadow came upon us

And I tried to keep you close and disguise my fear

Laying on the water surface

You pronounced some liquid words I could hardly hear

You said «Son, you soon will find a light

A shining light to guide you through your life

It’s a light that you must seek inside

For that light will help you clear the night

And the tears that you should never try to hide or cast aside»

I began to feel much stronger

Though I thought it would take longer to get through that

Sometimes life can just surprise you

So today I sail without you, and that’s a fact

Cause I finally can see that light

After seemingly eternal fights

Only now the shadow leaves my eyes

Only now I can see clear blue skies

Yes, I finally can see that light

You’re a light to guide me through my life

And a light I’ll always keep inside

For you showed me what was wrong or right

And that tears are drops of light that we should never try to hide
