Daily I’m reminded by the dirt beneath my nails

Of all the things for which I strive and the mountains that I climb

Endlessly confronted with the knowing that I’ll never find my soul

Sitting here remaining motionless…

so I guess this is where I say

Goodbye, I’m setting sail tonight

I don’t know if I’m ever coming back again

'cause I’d rather risk being lost to the sea

than sit here and let my soul Slip away…

Well it’s as if these words that pass between my lips

are overheard by the world And suddenly I’m overcome

by the sound of a billion voices telling me that

What I’m trying to do is hopless «So stay and live your days in the safety of

the known,

for if you set sail you may very well find your soul, or die trying»
