Descent to Light - Howling Sycamore

Infinite caverns before me

Pulling me into vortices of blackness

Spinning me into a whirlwind of madness

Tearing my skin from my veins

From my bones

From my earthly domain

As I descend to face this illusion

Like the medicine man I am reduced to nothingness

I observe the DNA of what once was my fleshly parade

Now crawling into the earth

As my remains slither like serpent and worms to decompose once again

In this cauldron of primal blood and ritual I am freed

And I descend into the blackness

I am home I am home I am home

My mind begins to boil and splay its meek

And terrible ways that fight to keep the ego in place

Always spinning and hiding and denying change

I let go and descend further and once again

Praying for annihilation of these human frailties

Come full circle into nothingness again

I am reborn into glimmering shards of starlight

As a small still heartbeat within me ascends this

Darkness into blinding light

I know

When all my flesh falls away

And nothing of me remains

I will be fused with starlight

In an infinity of blackness
