An honest farmer once had an ass

That had been a faithful servant

To him many years

But now it was growing old

And every day more

Was unfit to work

Therefore his master thought

He’d put him down

It was an ugly thought

His journey to the city

Would begin

Where he thought

On his way he found a troubled dog

Troubled cause his master

Tried to knock him on the head

Alas, said the ass
