The walk back home begins when

you’re far away off course

It doesn’t seem to matter where you’ve been

when you’ve got remorse

But every move you make and

especially all you’ve faked

It’s all burnt by the sun onto your back

You touch softly yet entangled in contract

A bird is free, they say, and

the world’s just one more cage

The sage just smiles and stares all the time at

the monster’s rage

It’s carbon, pure and simple

and droplets that make ripples

A long and dark December

But hold onto your head Temper, temper
