V vetru nocoj bomo spali, v vetru, ki divje se smeje,\nMorda nam bodo oblaki- rjuhe edine odeje.\nPala na roke, obleke, prva, druga bo kaplja, v noc cez\nMocvirno poseko zakricala bo caplja.\nTrsi spiral bo lica, mocil nam usta s krpo, noc nam bo\nZ mrzlim nozem rezala crnega kruha.\nSvoje misli tehtali bomo kot prhle veje, dokler nam\nSoncna zarja zemlje, src ne ogreje.\nV soncu bo hosta zapela, hosta in pesem vojna:\nBrat moj, ne skrivaj lica, danes je vojna, VOJNA!\n(English)\nWe’re going to sleep in the wind tonight, in the\nWind, who is laughing, wildly, and maybe the\nClouds, these white sheets, will be our only\nBlankets.\nOn hands and clothes the first, then second\nDrops of rain will fall.\nIn the night through the swampy clearing a\nHeron will cry out.\nThe stronger one will wash our faces and\nMoisten our lips with a rag and the night with\nA cold knife will cut us black bread.\nWe will weigh up our thoughts like rotten\nBranches, until the sunny dawn warms the\nGround and our hearts.\nThe underwood will wake up in the sun and\nWar will begin its song again: Brother of mine,\nDon’t hide your face, today is war, it’s WAR today!
