Look what happened between you, way up there from a hot air balloon

Were you a desert or a beach for call?

It’s simple to be not that simple at all

You had a chance to be certain, on the ball

Do we all see the same world at all?

You were given the path and the black ink

Send your pain down the kitchen sink

You thanked a storm a glorious day to think

Held the cat, looked out the window without a blink

When you look out the window, you’ll find that it’s harder to see in the mirror

You shoveled the snow and went in for a snack

And you wish you had a rocket-pack strapped to your back

To fly into the jet stream and make friends with it up there intact

In hopes of surviving a broken heart attack

So say it firm that you love yourself whole

Don’t think about what could have been anymore

You are done the battle, you are done the war
