Dream of Love - Lost Children

Late at night,

When the wind is blowing through the trees,

I sit and listen to the whispers of the leaves.

And I wonder if the lights of life

Are burning out of sight?

I wonder if some dream of love lives on,

Somewhere in your mind?

Close my eyes, retreat inside,

Neurotransmission on chemical tides,

October shadows blur with time,

But that smile is remarkably spry.

Late at night,

As the lake starts to freeze,

The moonlight shivers,

The trees groan and creak,

And I wonder if the warmth of home,

Would still welcome me in?

I wonder if this is the end,

Or where the story begins?
