Port of Call - Miles Away

a time, a place we try to escape the pressures outside

not afraid to be ourselves, or let our feelings show

this is a time, a place to shine, untouched by jaded minds

not something to take for granted

gotta make the best of what we have now,

just use your head, we leave a mark

I see no point in tearing down all the things that mean so much to me

we have our say, refuse to pick apart at the seams

the games some play take me back to the high school days

fighting to make a name for ourselves

always believed in something more than stepping stones

I always believed in something more than a passing phase

I’ll always believe there’s something here worth fighting for

I’ve got to believe efforts made for the best

I’m not saying it’s a perfect world, it’s dog eat dog and that’s a fact

finding value in the things we love,

all this time we share makes sense to me

all these times we share is just wasted breath

some are here ‘till the next train arrives

claim it a while, live in denial

open mouths, endless words, talk, talk, talk ‘til nothing’s left

there’s nothing worse than living a lie
