Another time

We turn the wheels and head back north home

As the sun would rise

Over the fields which once were overgrown

Melting ice

Into algae blooms to consume the small and obscure lives

Slowly we realize

It’s all too real

When the ruins flood

And the roads no longer leads to anywhere

We’ll be on our new beach

Where more than one moon keeps us awake

It’s another rising

Of the plume that eats more than the sky

As the reddening tide

Inundates your room, now the consumed is your inferior life

Staring into the eagle’s eyes

Your soul it steals

To so blatantly deny

What’s proven real

When the ruins flood
