Into the Chasm -

We have survived all on our own

With none in our way

I have seen many winters

Before this day

Wide, the Earth opens below

Watch as it falls

Rape the land, tear it away

Payment reclaimed on this day

Hills rise and steppes they shift

Trembling the Earth at our feet

Into the chasm we fall

Downwards end our deceit

Mountains they crumble below

Oceans wash them away

Into the chasm we fall

Deeper into the grey

This our downfall

And so it has passed

With this ending

So too does our past

Blindly consuming it all

Greed without care

We claim and build

This place from nothing

It seems far too good to be

The darkness taking over our sights

Falling into eternal night
