'Ere that time whence nature ruled supreme

Over lands that man hath never trod

There raged a mighty battle

Between nature and her spawn --

Man

Man, who dared to tear the mountains down

And build his buildings until they tower in the sky

Man, who changed the way the rivers run

And made his aircraft fly

But --

When man’s works are finished

And stand gleaming in the air

The force of nature

Will begin to tear

With wind

Fire

Water

Rust

Corrosion

Decay

Until all that man has seemed to conquer

Lies rotting in the sand
