Fold underneath the weight of the midnight sun

Stars crossed, enamoring

Revel tonight in spite of my latent raging apathy

Crescent thee, I beg on my knees but your enormity hears no prayer

Cauterize the brain, remove the plug from the drain and wash away

I was born to be a slave to the moon and seas

Oh the stars are beckoning me to fly

But these chains, these chains ground me

Waning moon and tepid ocean

Shiver in my skin

Show no sign of cold emotion

You have to pretend

I can’t erase the memory from my mind

Oh these thoughts are closing in and

Casting their tendrils through me
