every single night i lie awake

wishing i could find the strength to leave this cage

i’m looking back on choices i have made

through the window of a prison we e

every moment of my life is mass produced

work the days away until it’s time for us to die

in the end there’s nothing left to comfort us except the lies

well i refuse to be a part of the decline

there are better ways to spend the little time

we have left to get the most out of our lives

we measure worth by what we carry inside

i sit back and watch the ones i love scrape by

the escape of substance is clouding up their eyes

and soon the years will carry us away
