How I wonder

Never came to that much

And I wonder

How I have waited

Like waiting was my friend

For this waiting to end

But in waiting

I tread no ground I couldn’t intend

I have been tracing

Sketches of the past

Painting as if memories wouldn’t last

And I live in the present

But the present moves so fast

What I have wasted

Trying to know right from wrong

Treading between weak and strong

How time slips by

When you take so long

How I wonder
