I’ve been to Chicago and I’ve seen it’s tallest tower

Rising high in silver spears in great displays of power

They got a lot of pretty things a man cannot ignore

Oh, but that’s not the city that I’m looking for

I’ve seen New York city now all covered in the snow

Shining bright with colored lights everywhere I go

But I feel something missing here

And I long for something more

All I find is I’m not at home

I’ve been out to see L.A. in all it’s glory fine

But every sip upon my lip would kill me at the core

Knowing this is not the city that I’m looking for

Seems like just as long as I remember

I’ve never found the place I wanna find

But as long as I can get there by forever

I’ll admit that I don’t really mind

Cuz somewhere in that city by the pretty crystal sea

I’ve been told of streets of gold

And a mansion there for me

And nothing here can make me fear

The promise of that shore
