When my mom was pregnant she fell down the stairs

Doctor said abortion, he told her I was dead

But she waited through the night and woke up felt me kicking

And in February she had an Aquarian infant

Basketball was my life, family was my anchor

Grandma died recently, never got to thank her

Her coffin was a buried treasure, ashes black gold flakes

It’s crazy what a difference for the world one soul makes

Broken knees and no money had me on the sidelines

Collapsed my lungs five times but music’s been my life line

No monkey on my back just King Kong on my spine

Shrugged my shoulders it’s fine, no time to waste time

Failure made me furious, drugs made me delirious

I went back and renamed all my mistakes to experience

I’m not a rapper, I’m a journalist writer

Life is war, words are weapons and I’ll always be a fighter

Truth is just fiction that has survived

And truthfully I’m thankful that I’m still alive

My lungs are fine now, I got the knives out my spine now

I was lying face down in a puddle of humble

Drowning in reverence when I felt my pride crumble

Loneliness and expectation are one in the same

Some people go insane, seeking fame only to find blame

My brain contains a horror movie filmed with 2 eyes

Sometimes they film a love story, tragedy or sci-fi

Everyone’s a hero, there’s no director in the sky

And the only thing I know is in the end the hero dies
