Every word

That comes from your lips

Is a bullet hole kiss

To a sinking ship

You mean the world to them all

They sacrifice to your wish

They value your cause

More than all that exists

You instill your fear

You disguise it as hope

And then you cut your losses

From the end of their rope

For everything that you have given

You’ve learned nothing yourself

Your words of wisdom are directed towards anyone else

You find your new followers and you guide them to death

You sacrifice the ones who love you while saving your breath

They willingly give themselves to your cause

While the others who watch

See no reason for pause

For the first time the light will acknowledge them

And that is when you will play the victim again

While others bow and pray
